Mondays might be great for you, but they're not so great when you lose everything that was ever important to you.
Everything.

So I went out for coffee with this guy. Long story. Isn't it kind of weird that we both are writing about it in our livejournals, even though neither one of us expect the other to ever read it?

Once again, my lack of coordination has lead to me making a fool of myself in public. Walking out of the CDF today, I opened the door and my foot got stuck under it. I kind of yelled "ow!" but there was a woman behind me, so I played it off like it didn't hurt that bad. When i got to the stairway, though, I couldn't even walk. Jesus God why do I do this to myself???
Anyway, I had a meeting with my education teacher in like five minutes, so I figured I'd just stop in Baldwin to get a band-aid for my now-bleeding toe. Great idea, Debs. I get to Baldwin and tell that bitch receptionist that I just need a band-aid for my cut toe, but she refuses to give it to me. I have to sign in and talk to a nurse. Seeing that I couldn't argue my way out of it, I waited until the nurse came out and yelled to this other nurse, "Can you take the next person? I've gotta go take care of this cut toe" like I was just this idiot girl that cut herself and now is demanding medical attention. Ughh.
So I follow the nurse back into one of the exam rooms and she starts going through my medical records and stuff. God, I just wanted a fucking band-aid! As she was putting ointment and the band-aid on my toe (my whole foot was muddy, by the way, because I tried to take a "short cut" to Baldwin instead of walking on the sidewalk), she proceeded to lecture me on how I haven't had a tetanus shot since 1995, and that I need to make an appointment to get another one "as soon as you leave this room." Well fuck that. I just ran over to my meeting. It was ok, though, because my teacher was late.
Thanks for the help, Baldwin.

I was really scared about room draw before, but it turned out ok. I'm going to be living on the third floor next year, along with Phili, Matt and Liz....and Alvan UGH. My room is going to be really close to the Jane/Sally/Zach/Ryan suite too, because all I have to do is go down the side staircase and I'm there. This way, I'm close, but I also get my own space and a change of scenery.
My hand hurts so bad right now. I think this is a violin-related injury of some sort, but I don't know exactly what I did. It's hurting to type this right now, so I guess I'll go back to my ComDev work.

My concert went so well today. The John Cage piece was amazing, Dave's piece was awesome too, and even though the mass was a little long, it was a lot better hearing it for the second time. We screwed up a couple times at the beginning of our piece, most likely out of nerves, but everyone said that they didn't notice. I guess it's one of those things that only the performers are aware of. I was shaking through the performance because of all the adrenaline, and i was still shaking when we walked out of Skinner after the show. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
The best part about today was that a bunch of my friends came to watch me play. They are so great! It meant a lot that they were there. Apparently Ryan couldn't see me because Thomas (the conductor) was blocking his view, which sucks because he loves to see me play and likes the viola way more than the violin. That small point aside, it was a great day (except for having to go to orchestra rehearsal AFTER my concert arghhh!!). Wish me luck in room draw.

Please come to the Mahagonny Ensemble tomorrow! I'm playing this Copland piece that I absolutely LOVE, and you will too. Also, the opening piece is "Living Room Music" by John Cage, which you have to see to believe.

GOD! I have the WORST draw number! I'm pretty much guaranteed a closet to live in next year.
At least it's only for one semester.

I have this horrible sore throat and I felt like dying this morning. I went to Baldwin and they, uh, gave me a pregnancy test? They said the sore throat could be an early sign. I assured them that this was not the case, but they wanted me to take it just in case. How do these people even get hired?

Fuck you, Marty, FUCK YOU. I went out on a limb and said you were a 23, a 23 for God's sake, which you probably knew was my favorite number and all, for personal reasons that I'd rather not get into here...and you have the audacity to say I'm a 5? You know how small and ugly a number that is? That was the first one to come to mind? Fuck you. In front of all those people, too. I'm no 5, and you know it. You can be such a jerk sometimes.

More surveying with Owen! Afterwards we went out for ice cream at the Nantucket Creamery. The raspberry ice cream was delicious!

While surveying people in the town of Poughkeepsie, I found this beautiful mansion on Pine St. I think I'm going to work my magic and convince the couple there to let me move in, maybe as a nanny or something. It's pretty much my dream house, white picket fence and all. I also met this crazy guy, who talked to me for an hour on the porch of his 'care center'. He was a sweet old man - he thought everything was great, and he just wanted world peace...
I had this dream that I went to college in Algeria. It was exactly the same as Vassar, except, you know, a little dustier.

I went to get pie with a friend tonight, for his birthday. We drove around looking for a 24-hour diner, which was more difficult than it should have been. Everything I've been learning, about how diners like this move in with their fake culture, and replace the pre-existing culture because they have the market power to do so, and then proceed to put pressure on nearby establishments and drive down property values...it's all hard to resolve when you just want some dessert after midnight.

Mexico was great - I am so tan right now! I didn't expect to have so much fun on the trip, but hey, Mexican beer has saved many a vacation, I'm sure.

There are no good movies out. I just saw "The Chorus" with my parents, and it was a little disappointing. You'd think a movie that's French, about education and about music would be perfect, but no, it was just okay.

I've been thinking about getting my cartilege pierced. Not so much to 'make a statement' or to attract boys...it's really to freak out my parents. I'm such a teenager. Maybe I'll get my nose pierced instead, but so many girls do that already. It's become cliche. And by so many girls, I mean only sluts.
